On August 29, 2025, Spirit Airlines began voluntary restructuring proceedings. We intend to use the Chapter 11 process to implement the broad changes necessary to ensure the long-term success of the business and deliver the best value in the sky for years to come.
- Spirit will conduct business as normal during the restructuring process.
- Wages and benefits will continue to be paid and honored for our Team Members.
- We don’t expect significant changes to day-to-day jobs as a result of the Chapter 11 filing.
- Guests can continue to book, travel and use tickets, credits and loyalty points.
We continue to rely on our contracted partners, who are a core part of our team and the face of our airline in many of our stations. Throughout the Chapter 11 process, Spirit will meet go forward obligations to its vendors, including those who employ our Service Providers.
